The Bird Hide

The Bird Hide offers accomodation for upto 8 people in a fully furnished and self contained house overlooking the beautiful Coorong. Facilities are split into two levels both are self contained and independent of each other.

Down stairs is a 2 bedroom unit and upstairs (the main house) includes open fire, spa and sauna with stunning balcony views.

You can lie in bed every morning and watch the sun rise and each night you can sit on the balcony and watch the sunset with hundreds of pelicans passing by only metres away.

Due to the sensitive environment and bird watching retreat, NO children and pets please.

Set in the middle of 2000 acres of revegetated land, a working African Dorper sheep farm, native wildlife sanctuary bordering national park, aboriginal homelands and a world heritage bird watching site, The Needles is a special location.

This property was designed and built by Alby Mangels world famous adventurer and explorer and has been his home and sanctuary for the past 10 years. He has rejuvenated the landscape with native trees and has used the bird life as the subject for his latest documentary "Call of the Coorong".
