Meningie Hospital Auxiliary

Auxiliary members raise funds in order to purchase equipment and furnishings for the hospital. The primary source of fund raising now relates to "2nd Time Round", a shop brimming with clothing, crockery, bric a brac, shoes, linen etc. A photo album of items purchased with the shop's profits is at 2nd Time Round for perusal. The shop is situated in the main street of Meningie in close proximity to Foodland Supermarket and opposite the Bowling Club.

Approximately thirty volunteers enable the shop to open Monday to Saturday between the hours of 10am - 4pm. (the hour may differ occasionally)

A service to sell unrequired furniture, white goods etc (in good condition) is also available with advertising placed in the window of the shop detailing item, price and telephone number of the vendor. The items are purchased through the vendor (as there is insufficient storage space) with proceeds to the hospital auxiliary. Many items have been sold successfully in the part through this method.

Volunteers for the shop and the auxiliary are welcome. Assistance to sort through clothing and iron (wash if necessary, even mend) is always appreciated. The presentation of all goods for the shop is an important feature.

Contact in this regard can be made to Lorraine Bagshaw on 08 8575 1316

Meeting times occur every second Thursday of the Month (excluding January) at 8.00pm in the Community Health Centre (Hospital Grounds) where members gather and enjoy a cuppa afterwards.

The Annual General Meeting is held in July. A close association with the hospital is encouraged and a wish list of requirement from hospital hierarchy occurs when necessary.
